I love the positive D upside Demello gives and would be onboard with this! Or Roy from LA

If it doesn't work for Vancouver, Detroit will move him elsewhere.</div></div>
I’m not a Vancouver fan so I don’t really know honestly I was just suggesting ideas as I feel there is a deal to work out if both parties are interested

They need cap space and are in winnnow mode and teams in this position make wild moves to squeeze every cent out of their roster so who knows

Revised Offseason Blueprint
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Letsgosharks</b></div><div>Man, Having Couture back on the roster would be such a breath of fresh air for this team, I do worry a little bit about Benning, but I thought that he was solid in his time with the sharks, I am a little hesitant to sign 2 UFA dman to create a future jam but we will see</div></div>
True! But Inwould rather have a logjam of good D giving the prospects more time to develop than what we have now! A log jam of underperforming D who are just blocking opportunity for the younger guys.
Personally as much as we don’t want to look at LD is Grier could find a way to get Skejei and Montour without overpaying for 5/6 years I would be over the moon! Then next year and in 26 sharks focus their 1st on a LD and RD to be the future top pairing by the time those deals are up those potential guys would be ready to step in being around 23-25 years in age!

Kakko has the skill and potential, but there is a legit possibility New York is bad for him! Too much media scrutiny and attention and in San Jose he would have a lot more room to develop and grow. Plus I love his size.
He’s kid getting him and Goodrow for a 4th is a steal of a deal lol I’m in

Revised Offseason Blueprint
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Letsgosharks</b></div><div>Thanks! Perhaps we throw Ferraro - Benning out as our top pairing as a pure shut down pair, or sign another top 4 like you said
Having a line of Celebrini - Couture - Smith would be amazing, Im just not all that hopeful he is able to return, but fingers crossed</div></div>
Players do recover from this kind of injury but it takes patience and time and I am hopeful the off-season gives him enough! Even if he is only 75% of the couture we saw in 22/23 still would be a good player! Plus the mentorship and knowledge he could pass on is invaluable to the sharks. I think both could learn a lot from him.
I think the Ferraro Benning pair could be a good idea! But I worry about Benning Hip that wasn’t a simple surgery and those type of injuries and surgery take a Little mobility speed and power from a players stride and he was a fringe 4/5 D to begin with, fear he comes back more like a 6/7D than a solid 4/5D

Goodrow had a rough year but damn if he isn’t providing a good amount of offense from the bottom 6 in the playoffs!
If sharks move Sturm in the off-season they should do this but both l fill a similar role and would be redundant to have both.

I’m close to 100% on this team. Great post as always!!!
I do think sharks should attempt to grab 2 top 4 D.
I love Mukh but right now I wouldn’t put a rookie on the top pairing as it may destroy his confidence and slow his progression.
If couture is healthy I would still grab Pageau if the Islanders are willing to pay to move him as an insurance policy for both Granlund and Couture. I am hoping Couture is healthy as I badly want him to center a line with Smith and Celebrini to show them the ropes and work with both for a year before they transitions to our 1/2 C pairing. But that’s out of our control.

I could easily see that he developed well this year and 21/22 age season is where you usually start to see a 2nd rounder make the jump to NHL and his size keeps him from being a liability as he learns the pro game at the big level.

Actually think you are spot on here with the value! He is a decent 4/5th D on a team and his deal isn’t crazy! 2-4ths for this deal make a lot of sense! One for the retention (3rd team maybe) and the other for his value.

He needs a change of scenery and a guy like Petterson would open up his game a lot! And Boston could use Lindholm this actually makes a lot of science for both clubs

Cole Huston at 14 doesn’t fill a need and goes against the style Grier has set (Bigger faster players with skill, grit, and intelligence)
While I do like Huston skill and intelligence, sharks have similar prospects and really need a bigger stronger LD with top pair potential, otherwise the RD is so weak with a bunch of depth/ AHL/NHL tweener type prospects. They need 2-3 top 4 potential RD options. And a top 6 RW

MJ's first rd
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Element23VM</b></div><div>Simishev is a lefty lol... what were they thinkin... and that's what'll screw our mock drafts over... you know one of these teams is gonna do something like that... "Utah is proud to select Teddy Stiga"... WHAAA?! I honestly thought they took him because of commodity value.
Crypes... I think if I were picking Mukhamadullin or Simishev, I'd take Mook. I guess they hope Simishev eats extremely important minutes.
Nabokov is extremely intriguing. You just wonder with Lou... he likes winners, and George winning both Hlinka Gretz and U18 is gonna catch his eye. But maybe he sees Nabokov winning Gagarin and says he wants that instead. The other two guys you named have a lot more to prove (playing in important games). Or maybe at this point, he's checked out, and his scout will just pick a guy like Sennecke.</div></div>
If Nabokov was 2” taller he would be top 10 but being 5’11/6’ as a goalie has become a death sentence in NHL scouting apparently. Personally think the sharks having another Nabokov in net would be awesome!
And you can’t ignor his stats in the KHL or from the (albeit limited) scouting we have available

I would ask for a 2nd for taking on Pageau (Vancouver pick so we can grab Carter George G would be nice)
Agree on the draft thoughts. Think Elick goes way earlier honestly though.
I am targeting Badinka RD and Pulkkinen LD in the 2nd round! Love that size and both skate well and have some offensive upside but likely would be more defensive if they make the NHL

Have to agree! This is where I want the sharks to go with there 2 picks! The forward group would have a lot of very good pieces now and the rest of the draft and next year sharks can focus heavily on D and goalies.

Agreed this deal was a bad idea and will end much like Matt Murray’s deal did. If he was around 3-3.5 for 2 years a 4th wouldn’t be bad but at this cap and term it will likely cost to move him unless he has a rebound year.
